business owner, dedicated mom and health professional
Amy was certified in colon hydrotherapy at Canadian Natural Health and Healing Centre in Toronto in 2002. She followed her certification with a 6 month apprenticeship under Cathleen Moffit at Partners in Holistic Health in Paw Paw, MI. This apprenticeship gave her a start with experience working with clients with special needs: children, terminally ill, recovering addicts, and a wide range of chronic illnesses.
She opened her first practice at a clinic in Parchment, MI in 2003. There, she practiced happily until the clinic closed due to rezoning in 2004.
In 2005, Amy moved to Boulder, CO and found a fantastic home for her business in neighboring small town Louisville, CO. After 10 years in business, Amy’s practice, Love and Light Holistic Health Services, was voted “Louisville’s Best Alternative Health Care” by readers choice in Best of Boulder East County, which she considers a great honor.
After having their second child, Amy, her partner Nate, their amazing kiddos (not to mention their small clan of cats and dogs) decided to move to Michigan to be closer to their respective extended families in Michigan, Iowa, and Tennessee. This led to Amy finding a home for her business at Masters Health and Wellness Center in Richland where she is currently enjoying helping clients, friends, and family find renewed health and balance.
Amy has attended a number of workshops over the years (in aromatherapy, acupressure, and various energy works) to complement her work in digestive health, and incorporates these techniques as needed during her colonic sessions.
Currently, Amy is broadening her understanding of how health works by way of certification courses she’s taking in functional nutrition. She is looking forward to putting this new knowledge to use by playing an expanding role in her clients’ health care.
